THE BUILD PROCESS
We focus on resolving complexity early — so the final vessel is a precise execution, not an approximation.
BUILT TO THE MOST STRINGENT STANDARDS
We are fully familiar with and build in accordance with USL, NSCV, AS/NZ electrical standards, Class rules, USCG, IMO, SOLAS, and Red Ensign requirements.
Compliance is considered from the outset, ensuring each vessel can be delivered survey-ready where required.

PRECISION IN EVERY DETAIL
From hull structure to the finest interior detail, every element is fully defined in 3D. Unlike most builders, we model not only the primary structure, but also secondary details — including joinery transitions, upholstery stitching lines, edge radiuses, and complex geometries.
Our design journey begins with hand sketches and layout studies. Once the general arrangement is agreed, we develop a comprehensive 3D model that allows owners to review and refine every curve, angle, and transition — down to the routing of individual pipes and cables.
This high level of upfront definition significantly reduces uncertainty, rework, and compromise during the build.

DATA-DRIVEN DECISIONS
Beyond what is visible, every vessel is supported by verified engineering. These processes ensure that key decisions are based on validated data rather than assumptions.
- Structural Strength: Assessed using FEM analysis tools such as LR Sesam or ANSYS.
- Stability: Analysed using Maxsurf Stability.
- Performance: CFD simulations or physical model testing conducted to predict real-world performance.
- Optimisation: Additional finite element optimisation for weight-sensitive designs.

YACHT-LEVEL INTERIOR REFINEMENT
Our approach differs fundamentally from typical aluminium vessel practices. Rather than applying paint directly onto aluminium or using carpet linings, we incorporate advanced insulation layers (Rockwool) for thermal and acoustic comfort.
For owners seeking a higher level of finish, we offer:
- Fire-rated timber panels and natural timber veneers.
- Fibreglass moulded components for seamless detailing.
- Upholstered panels and soft finishes.
- Subfloor structures and levelling systems for proper foundations.
YACHT-GRADE COATING SYSTEMS
We offer complete yacht-grade coating systems. All surfaces are properly prepared through sanding and acid etching, followed by epoxy fairing compounds to eliminate visible weld lines and create smooth, continuous surfaces.
We typically use Alexseal Ultra Lite Fair 282 fairing systems combined with high-performance primers and polyurethane topcoats.
For the highest level of finish, coatings can be refined to a superyacht standard through multi-stage sanding and polishing.

VERSATILE DECKING SOLUTIONS
We provide a full range of decking solutions to suit different budgets and applications, balancing aesthetics, durability, and maintenance.
- Aluminium Checker Plate: Durable and cost-effective.
- EVA Foam Decking: Comfortable and stylish.
- Synthetic Teak Systems: High durability with low maintenance.
- Natural Burmese Teak: The ultimate in yacht aesthetics.

RELIABLE & PERSONALISED
Working with a multidisciplinary team of naval architects and marine specialists, we apply a level of integration and verification more commonly seen in superyachts and specialised seagoing vessels.
This standard of thinking is applied consistently across every Captain Wave project — regardless of size or scope. We prioritise clarity before construction — so what is delivered is not an approximation, but a precise execution of the design.
